Malcolm, meanwhile, got to his feet, dusting himself off fairly uselessly. He was too dusty for a bit of dusting off to do any good.

"You told me," Malcolm said simply, and the man gave him a dirty look. "Answer the deputy's question," he said in a calm but firm voice.
