Raylan hummed softly, lips following the kiss for a half second as it broke and he smiled at Malcolm's last words. "It is. A good home base for us while we're in Kentucky."

He was still looking forwards to Miami, but this gave them some kind of comfortable respite in the in between times. It was something to keep them afloat and fractionally less desperate for each other. Taking the opportunity, Raylan kissed Malcolm again, a little less chaste than their last few kisses. "I love you too," he said earnestly, as the kiss broke.

No matter what Winona said, there was no way she was shaking Raylan's confidence in this. In the way they both felt about each other. This wasn't a phase or a crisis - Raylan wanted to be with Malcolm the same way he'd wanted to be with Winona in the past. Two old souls on a porch with each other, looking over a garden or something with kids running around.

Winona clearly hadn't really wanted that. He couldn't believe that Malcolm didn't.
