She thought we didn't see the article, but Ainsley got a copy from someone at school and snuck it home in her homework and we read it in my room under the guise that I was helping her study."

He shrugged.

"We heard our mother shouting at her lawyer on the phone; we wanted to know what all the fuss was about."

He shoveled in a couple more spoonfuls of soup and then left it.
