Malcolm pressed his lips together, considering it, though it was obvious from the set of his face and the light in his eyes that he was interested.

"I've never slept in a bed with someone before," he confessed in a low voice.

And he was concerned about hurting Raylan, but Raylan had already batted that down in their previous conversation about intervening in his nightmares.

"Okay," he said, climbing off Raylan's lap, trying not to look as quietly excited as he was and largely failing. He started towards the bedroom, but stopped, turning back to Raylan.

"I'm going to put pants on," he explained, then held up his hand and added with a nod "It's not a rejection of the intimacy; it's just in case I get loose and end up outside."
