abrightboyWant handwaved CR with Malcolm or just a more general SOL prompt for a log? Look no further! If we've had at least one thread together, we roughly know how the characters interact, I'm open to ongoing handwaving with any of these prompts, or one can be used to prompt an intro thread or just to thread if you're in the mood for something light. These prompts may change from time to time. Use this handy form to let me know what handwaving your character gets up to with him. Thanks!
Coffee Shop
When: Usually first thing in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon or evening; almost every day.
Where: Coffee Shop down the street from ADI offices.
Who: Malcolm will sometimes go with his boyfriend/roommate Neal Caffrey and sometimes by himself.
What: Malcolm likes to get coffee, tea or hot chocolate (depending on time of day and mood) and chat. That can be light chat - he's super interested in people - or deeper stuff. He has a degree in psychology and reads people's faces and body language by default.
What your character will learn about Malcolm: He's fidgety and a little intense, but kind and genuinely interested in people. He's only judgemental if someone's behaviour can be described as predatory, particularly towards vulnerable people.
Investigations Department - ADI
When: During the work day.
Where: Investigation dept offices, the cafeteria, walking around the building.
Who: Malcolm Bright
What: Malcolm will not consider work outside of the investigations dept; he thinks of himself as Law Enforcement and refuses to be anything else. But their work is largely not his bag of twisted murders and psychopath profiling, so he's just largely bored and disengaged. Feel free to interrupt him. Please. He's begging you.
What your character will learn about Malcolm: His self image is built entirely around being an agent of the law and he will not turn away from that, even if it means he just... doesn't do much of anything most of the time.
ADI apartments
When: Evenings/Nights
Where: Inside or outside B1, or in any of the apartment blocks if he's been visiting or checking on a friend.
Who: Malcolm Bright
What: Malcolm likes to keep in touch with his friends, now that he has friends. He also likes to walk late at night if his insomnia is giving him a run for his money. He can be found around the apartments since you can't leave the complex at night.
What your character will learn about Malcolm: He has insomnia to go with his parasomnia, which may or may not come up unless you hear him screaming from the hallway, in which case he is willing to explain.

What might he learn of your character from these activities? Winter likes routine. He eats the same thing almost every day. Also, he's slowly starting to become more animated when in familiar and comfortable situations, which Malcolm probably notices any time he sees the guy anyway. He clearly does not get enough sleep. Also, it's probably obvious the says he actually breaks down and takes a painkiller for his chronic pain (thanks HYDRA!), which isn't very often.

Apartments, maybe once or twice a week he checks in on Malcolm if Malcolm hasn't checked in on him first, and sometimes he'll join him on late night walkabouts if he has awakened from a nightmare and doesn't want to bug Nick, who never sleeps.
What might he learn of your character from these activities? He'll learn George takes his job seriously and when he's not actively investigating something, he's working on learning the DMV manual and studying to take a driver's test in August 2022. He is also looking into continuing education a little on the downlow but hasn't yet made any decisions about it.
On the walks, he may admit he has nightmares sometimes and will admit they're about Lennie.

Also Malcolm has NOT been taking his job here that seriously for all this time bc it only rarely offers him something of personal interest, unlike his last two jobs which were 24/7 weird murders, but George’s taking it all seriously might spur Malcolm to take it more seriously too.
He would also be happy to help George with his studies if that comes out, but he is not much use re driving bc he does not drive. He would be a cheerleader for that effort tho.
