Date: 20 Mar 2023 21:43 (UTC)It's a good thing he's a temporary warden, then. Some inmates have terrible or useless wardens for months before they're assigned to someone who helps.
It took six months, for me. Before Warren, I had a single conversation that cut to the heart of what brought me here, and that wasn't with any of my temporary wardens. One meaningful conversation in half a year.
A couple of my temporary wardens did help with concrete things I needed: magic, or survival in the worst port I've experienced. But nothing that helped me heal or grow.

Date: 24 Mar 2023 14:36 (UTC)I have my own temporary inmate, but it's also my job to keep an eye out for all the unpaired inmates, so I'll always have something like them. Even once I'm permanently assigned.
It doesn't come naturally. I'm not good with people. But someone ought to do it. That job didn't exist before Trevor and I took it on.
