i have some friends. that's not my point.

i've taken some psych classes, too. read some studies of human behavior. don't remember any that concluded that most people don't care about what they do.

Well there are two categories, right? People who can work in the field of their choice, like us, and people who have to just work. Nobody goes to school thinking of their dream job at McDonalds or on the assembly line or ringing up groceries. But someone has to do that work. Do you think all of them bring their A game every day? The ones that do? That's who they are. But you can't base that study on people living their passion. Of course they care about what they do, because they get to do what they care about.
