brief bio: Malcolm Bright is a former FBI profiler, now working as a consultant for the NYPD. He's highly skilled at reading people. His birth name is Malcolm Whitly, son of notorious serial killer Dr Martin 'The Surgeon' Whitly. That albatross has been hanging around his neck since his father's high profile arrest, even though Malcolm was the one that turned him in. Suffering from a variety of mental health disorders related to childhood trauma, Malcolm just tries to get through each day, catch killers so they can't kill again and dig into the fragments of his own repressed memories of his final weeks living with his father. For all that, he's a remarkably positive person, though his mentor - police lieutenant Gil Arroyo - would suggest that he could have a better sense of self-preservation.

appearance: Very well groomed and expensively dressed. Not tall, but athletically built. Light brown hair, bright blue eyes, designer stubble. Wears his watch on the inside of his wrist, like a doctor might.
identifying marks: Scar on his upper lip, just left of centre.

mental state: Suffering from CPTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, clinical depression, chronic insomnia, occasional hallunications and night terrors, but all largely under some form of control via various coping mechanisms and medications. However, he doesn't have his medications with him and he won't have access to them in town, so that status will be going downhill.

Observational skills, profound understanding of psychology - he's very good at reading people, so let me know if there are things you do or don't want him to pick up on. He's also got the power of Sass.
