But yeah. We lost a lot of good people but we won. Every community I knew came together to fight them.

In some ways? Lots. But things changed me at home all the time, too. And... in some ways I don't change. In some ways I'm the same and can't be something else. I used to try.

I don't know if I'm a better person. Sometimes I feel... pettier. Sometimes I feel... less patient. That might be wolf stuff. But I know my life is better than it was before I came here.

Oh just, everyone. It's a prison ship where people actually get to better themselves and get redemption. It's everything I ever wanted for home.

[A small sigh] I...sort of made a life pact with Rosita to try to get her to try adjusting here. If she tries, I try. So. As long as she's here and trying to graduate, I'll leave here alive and go to Maggie's world.

I mean.... I'm getting involved with someone and it changes how I look at it. It's not required to be a short term thing now because I'm not going to die in the next couple of months, you know? Pretty scary.

You seem excited about your future with Will. I've never been excited about mine, not really.

I've never been excited about mine before, either. This is the first time. I never thought about the future beyond my next case before I came here, because I knew there was nothing there.

Yeah. He has the person he really loves; he won't get that attached to me. It won't leave much of an impact when I die.

I can’t really do… poly. But the people I know who do have a plan for… what they’re doing. Maybe you can talk to them about it. You don’t actually know he wouldn’t be that affected by your death. You hoped to orchestrate it that way. Maybe he cares more about you than you anticipated.
