Will looks at the time- and then hates that he did. Because he's actually going to be a little late for his shift. He didn't think this had taken up that much time.

"Just us," he agrees, pulling back enough to squeeze Malcolm's hands in his own. It's intended to allow him to separate, but it ends up merely resulting in another kiss.

He finally breaks away with a groan and tells Malcolm. "I should go. Don't want to leave the whole thing up to Steve. I'll be back at five. On the dot. Maybe a couple minutes early."

It's unsurprising when the rest of the day seems to take forever. But the dogs at the kennel seem to pick up on his enthusiasm, and he's able to run the giddy energy out on Deck with them.

Will doesn't know what to expect, but it isn't this. The atmosphere in their cabin feels almost fantasy-like in its pleasantness, and it feels like every detail hits him at once.

It's a couple of minutes early, but...well, he did warn Malcolm. He takes the leashes off the dogs with a practiced ease. They run off into the living room, chasing each other.

"Hello, fiancé," he says, smile wide on his face and lights in his eyes. "I'm finally home."

Will's lucky he's got lycanthropic strength, because it lets him catch Malcolm far more easily than he would've otherwise. He laughs and kisses him back, enjoying the electric feel of joyful desperation to it. This...this feels like a storybook event. It actually feels like it's everything he wanted, and that he can let himself have it.

Surely, some of that has to do with his graduation, somehow.

"I missed you, too. The shift felt longer than it's ever been," he replies, once his lips are free. "I was probably driving the reptiles nuts, I kept tapping on things."

He does allow Malcolm down, then, if he wants. It probably wouldn't be too appreciated to just carry his fiancé around his own place. As Will moves, he turns just a bit to look at the bouquet. It makes him smile even wider. "Daisies...symbols of joy and new beginnings. And lilies? Commitment, faith, rebirth. Beautiful choices, Malcolm. This whole place is perfect." And well worth the wait, as tough as it was. "Were you working on it the whole day?"

Malcolm's enthusiasm would be infectious, even without Will's condition. He smelled something on the plates but wasn't sure what it was. Now that it's revealed, his grin is almost as wide as Malcolm's. He never expected Malcolm to be involved in the creation of the food.

Hannibal was right, that there's a purity in the satisfaction of providing a meal for the people you value. And now Malcolm knows that joy.

"Malcolm, that's fantastic. It smells delicious...I haven't had scallops in ages. How was it? Cooking dinner?"
