His posture changes and he becomes intensely attentive. Someone wants his opinion about something? He's listening.

"Yeah, of course."

"I told you what I did. Tampered with some of the more futuristic, heavy duty artillery as quietly as I could, I didn't hurt anyone, and the damage isn't permanent. In fact it's rather easily fixable if you know what you're looking at."

Which, he feels is entirely justified. Given his reasoning.

"Do you think it was wrong of me to do that? Deploy preventative measures to try and protect our ship when it comes back? You know how I feel about authority, and what I think of the Cap'n certainly informed my decision, but apparently some of our crew's inmates think I've committed a terrible sin. I...dont know how I feel about that, given the two in question are civilians, and probably have never been through a war in space."

"I don't know if I'm the wrong person to ask or the right one, based on how many times I've inadvertently passed people off on the Barge. Who is it that's mad at your for it?" Malcolm asks.

"Well your own thoughts on how you'd weigh in, for or against my actions would be appreciated too." He wants to hear voices, other than the ones he'd recruited, and he's certainly not going to posit it to the network, but smaller conversations...those ones he could handle right now.

"And it's Laura, Walter...I haven't spoken much with either of them. Though I don't think Sweeney approved either."

"What did they say the basis of their objection was?" Malcolm asks.

"Laura was upset that I was an 'entitled asshole who passes off my stupid behavior as everyone's best interest' as well as being upset that I was a bad guest, I suppose?" He thinks that's the gist of it.

"And Walter...was worried that by getting caught, I had doomed us all to suffering basically. Among other things."
