The villa Malcolm rented was in the Languedoc, not far from Marseilles, south of Avignon. It was a very historic region, though Malcolm was particularly not interested in visiting Marseilles again. There was a charming village nearby the villa and if they were going to go to an historic city for a day, he'd rather make the trip over to Montpellier, where he'd never been at all, much less with Dr Whitly.

The villa had six bedrooms. As the driver brought their luggage inside the bright and spacious main room, Malcolm handed him some folded Euros and thanked him and shut the door behind him.

"First choice of a room is yours," he told Edrisa with a smile. "But you might want to explore first."

"It could be the water. Oh!" She pointed at him. "Or the yeast! If they both use the local wild yeast they could take on similar flavors."

"Very scientific; I could subscribe to that," Malcolm remarked. He loved it when she got scientific. He had a real love for the hard sciences as a child, when his father would teach him about anatomy and chemistry, but he drifted away from it after the Surgeon's arrest. With her, he could find joy in it again.

She smiled proudly and plucked another grape, popping it in her mouth. She loved that he liked her geekiness. Particularly her brand of geeky.

"What should I try next?"

He pushed his hair behind his ear absently as he leaned over to survey the cheeseboard.

He pointed at one that looked a little bit like the brie. "Try this one; I think it's reblochon."

That tiny gesture was just so adorable, she couldn't help herself. As he was making his recommendation she leaned over the cheeseboard as well to plant a kiss on his mouth.

It was a pleasant surprise and he smiled as it broke.

"What'd I do to earn that?"

"Just being you," she said with an answering smile. "You were being cute. I couldn't resist."

"Was I?" He considered the possibilities, then cocked his head and hazarded a guess, pointing at the platter. "By knowing cheeses?"

She laughed a little, shook her head.

"I mean, don't get me wrong...I love a man who knows his cheese...but that wasn't it."

[abrightboy]

"You do love a man who knows his cheese," he teased. "Specifically."

"Mmm!" she said, leaning closer. "Absolutely head over heels. Specifically."

She kissed him again.

He was more prepared for that kiss and leaned into it, lingering in it, smiling again when it broke.

"Lucky him," he said, his smile broadening to a grin.

"Lucky her! She gets to experience new cheese."

She kissed him, then grinned.

"Although she might want to take a break to experience...something else."

He raised his eyebrows.

"Anything I can help with?"

She gave him a playfully sultry look.

"Well, it wouldn't be as much fun if I did it alone."

He laughed lightly. "That's the most rousing endorsement of my prowess I've ever been told," he admitted, getting up from the table and reaching for her. "Where would you like to go? This place has a lot of options."

She laughed and rose as well, stepping into his embrace and wrapping her arms around him. "I don't know! There's that huge bed. Or the couches look comfortable. Depending on how remote we are, we could try outside." She kissed him. "Thoughts?"

"I think I'd like to see just how remote we are first, before we consider outside." But it definitely wasn't off the table. In fact, he hadn't thought of it, but once in his head, the idea was intriguing. "I mean..." He glanced around and nodded towards the doorway. "The couch is just right there..."

"We'll save the outdoors for later, then." She really wanted to give it a try, but she didn't want some poor local stumbling on them in flagrante delicto.

She looked over her shoulder at the couch, then looked back, eyes sparkling.

"I guess that depends on how eager you are."

"Pretty eager," he said, leaning in to kiss her jaw and neck, pushing her robe away from her shoulders as he walked her backwards.

"Oh good," she said, tilting her head to give him all of her jaw and neck he wanted and pushing his robe off his shoulders as well as she let him back her toward the couch. "Me too!"

She slid her arms out of the robe and quickly tossed it aside, leaving her in her bathing suit.

His mouth continued its way along her neck and he slid his hands up from her hips to hook his thumbs under the shoulder straps of her swimsuit tug those off her shoulders as well.

She ran her own hands down his sides to his hips, hooking her thumbs to the waistband of his swim trunks and tugging them down. She quickly slid her arm out of one strap and then the other.

He kicked his trunks out of the way and pushed her bathing suit down over her hips before they got to the couch. He sunk into it, pulling her into his lap, his lips at her throat.

She awkwardly shimmied out of her swimsuit, tripping over it a little as she got her feet out and kicked it away, and fell into his lap laughing a little. She hummed as he kissed her throat, her head dropping back, her eyes closing, her hands sliding into his hair.
